You bring up an interesting point. Spike was 100% gone during this episode. Unusual as he wasn’t even a background element inside the castle or at a marketplace.

This part really made me feel that Spike was originally here in the first draft. Made more sense for Spike to defend Rarity more than Starlight.

I know starlight is reformed and all but did anyone else get the whole “I’m above such violence, but she isn’t” when Twilight allowed Starlight to “handle” those two?
