While Starlight isn’t a saint when it comes to socializing, (like what she did to Big Mac, and such) and has some control issues, I don’t think she would be that nasty. Considering the Mane 6 gave her a second chance, and how she’s still learning empathy, it’d be more likely she’d feel real bad for the “infamous flying disaster,” and probably talk down to her like a child/foal, which would annoy Derpy. That would’ve actually worked better.  
Starlight’s usually an ass when it’s unintentionally after her heel-face-turn. She’s not a flat-out jerk anymore.  
Trixie on the other hand is a li’l more blunt usually, so she’s actually more likely to act jerky unintentionally. So it’s funny seeing her being the nicer one here.
 
I hope this doesn’t turn into an “author tract” fan comic where he demonizes characters he doesn’t like, or something just to make the hero/main character look better.

Starlight’s doesn’t follow common sense and has no social skills, but she’s not a petty asshole who goes out of her way just to publicly insult someone based on their looks.
 
I read “changeling” in one of the tags so it might explain a thing or two. I mean, pre-Thorax changelings were dickheads and acted like jocks in a boys locker room.

This doesn’t make sense. Starlight’s the last person to give someone crap because of past mistakes. I could buy cultist starlight being so judgy but reformed Starlight is such a cookie cutter nice guy that this is silly.
 
When Reformed starlight is a dick, It stems from a desire to excell or do good that is soured by moral myopia and a tunnel vision that makes her forget about simple things like empathy. This kind of assholery is too petty and mean spirited and ignores what little personality she actually has.

Then why does she hate her so? Starlight’s never the type to just hate someone out of nowhere. She treated Twilight and friends very cordially until they started making a mess of things. Unless there’s some good reason in there, then Starlight just feels OOC.

That’s true. But what if she hated Derpy (for whatever reason)? I don’t think a character loses it’s entire hate just by one magic event but gradually.  
(The comic’s writer might have had some other thoughts though)

She was never like this post S5 though. And even in S5 she was only like that toward people she hated. Her default behavior was overall friendly.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be throwing in assumptions after only seeing one page of this, but Starlight seems horrifically out of character here. I mean, unless that’s the point or something?
