Well, as you judacris, the rushed execution of Jupiter’s redeemption, is kinda de to the 22 minute limit - the story could have worked better as a 2-parter. I think Starlight could get to Jupiter, due to the fact both are similar in the sense both thought that at one point, there is no turning back for them.
 
Jupiter also seems to have retained the most of her sense of self in her form (ie doesnt seem to be a separate persona as opposed to even Midnight, as seen in Legend of Everfree, who also was talked into giving up by Sunset).
 
Also, fun fact how these discussions in commebts can go about characters not even featured in the picture XD
 
(to be clear, I’m not critizing, just noting it’s kinda funny)

I feel there’s very little 22 minutes can do for something that was 70 minutes. I get the episodic format works for continuity, but it’s far too cramped.
 
Gotta agree with MBguy. Humanoid Starlight be breaking all the academy records with the reformation-to-rapport ratio. Dare I call Jupiter Montage the Flash Sentry of “villains”.

Okay guys/gals, I think you are a bit overreacting over Mirror Magic. I myself thought Starlight shouldn’t defeat her first Equestria Girls villain - Jupiter Montage - all by herself, especially that Sunset and Twiliht got more direct anganonism with her (from Movie Magic).
Again though, as Jupiter got defeated by talking the monster to death , it kinda makes sense, as it paralells how pony Twilight defeated Starlight. And in the last season, Starlight wasn’t able to redeem Chrysalis, so I think it’s to ballance that. And it trully allows Starlight’s storyline to go full circle.
Not to mention, Starlight didn’t even defeat Jupiter so much - she just helped Jupiter realize the wrong of her ways, and that’s it’s not to late for redemption. Again, even with Starlight, Princess Twilight had a fighting chance with Starlight - with Starlight she had none against Jupiter.
Yes, Movie Magic could be better, but I don’t think it’s that bad.

My point is Why Jupiter listens to Starlight. They don’t have a connection between each other. Why?
 
In Mirror Magic, Starlight acts like she knows Juniper despite being that first time.
 
I admitted I glad to see Starlight in EqG special, but the climax is really piss me off.
