Cartuneslover you’ve done a lot of things, but this…this, kindly screw off.
@BGP
I’m so fucking tired of this “I’m a fan not a brony” bullshit, fan is a fan, stop acting like there’s a damn difference between those who call themselves bronies and those who don’t.
Also, this kind of passive-agressive wording pretty much boils down to this:
So drop the superior attitude next time around because that robot guy is just so damn smug that I just want to punch him in the face. (Yes, I am aware of the hypocrisy, but that doesn’t make my point any less vaild.)
This is a classic example of someone with a good point, but has no credibility for others to take her point seriously.
Also, she loses a lot of points for making RD out of character to be a strawman. When making a point, never never use official characters to be strawmen. All it’ll do is make people ignore the point even more due to the sheer shadow low-blow.
tl;dr: Good point. Rep too low to matter. Using official character to represent the other side is bullshit. D+. See me after class.
Also, this is the same artist/writer that drew characters kicking Justin Beiber haters in the balls for not liking her own choice of music? While she raises a valid point, her opinionated standpoint just doesn’t hold weight here.
Considering that most of use the Internet as a form of Freedom of Speech, anyone has the right to say whatever they wish, however, we also have the right to call out on one’s BS in regards to his/her standpoint without the use of the term, “haters”, either rise a counter point or GTFO…
oh please. She is no better than the people she is chastising by making this comic
It’s just like political cartoons. The people who make them think they are OH SO SUPERIOR to who they insult, when in reality, they are just as shallow
Does this mean all the MAry Sues and OOC characters in the MLP universe will be sent to the LPS universe? while she has a point here in regards to fans and/or bronies, her work just doesn’t give her much ground to criticize a fandom.
It’s like Rob Leifeld criticizing DC/Marvel comics in general and it’s fans in regards to Image comics. Rather insulting, not going to win much support, and comes off as arrogant.
All it means, if you move from MLP, more folks are going to cheer you leaving than miss you since you did a piss poor job with the characters in the first place.
Nothing wrong with liking one show more or less than another. I hope we don’t end up with some kind of “fandom rivalry” thing going. Also Youtube is full of malignant spirits.
You’re missing the point, guys. The Hub wasn’t just made for ponies, it was made for new shows that take its audiences seriously. Why else would they include Batman the Animated Series (and don’t say just for more people to watch)?
Meh. I don’t like this show because it’s a nostalgia trip for a toyline I wasn’t interested in, I like it on its own merits. If Littlest Pet Shop (or anything else) is actually well-written and breaks out of the half-assed tendencies of children’s entertainment and especially merchandising shows like FIM did, more power to it.
People mostly criticized Welcome to Care-alot for its marketing rather than the actual show - it reeked of clueless overhype. Unnecessary CG that didn’t really add anything to the franchise except making the girl look amusingly creepy. The PR guys explicitly trying to pull in bronies with no idea of why they existed in the first place. As a show it wound up being mediocre, but not as outright awful as people expected.
