After checking with TSP, it turns out that some browsers were indeed rendering them identically. But since this version lines up with what’s available at the source and didn’t have the artifacting that was plainly visible to me, this is the one that stays.

Okay, I just did a RGB check on a pixel from the same location in Luna’s hair in both images to make sure I wasn’t crazy - there’s a 7 percent difference in the red channel alone (hex difference of 12,) easily detectable to the human eye. Also, this image has overall better color grading, and less banding…I have to ask if you’re looking at this on an old CRT because it’s as clear as day to me.

They’re most likely saved using different PNG modes, the colors are more washed out here and deeper there, it’s most obvious with the mane and Chrysalis’ dress. Some browsers and monitors will probably display them the same.  
This one’s inferior though.

welp, I just cycled the tabs of this and the older picture 20 times and ive come to the conclusion that either i’ve gone blind or Wingbeat has gone stupid on some LSD

I just did a double by downloading both and taking half of both and lining them up, it’s the same, it’s a dupe not an update.
