Description
I was unhappy with my original build, and decided to remake it out of a nicer rifle. I have been working on this thing since February, removing all visible tool marks and imperfections, while hand fitting every part. Every piece on this rifle was painted with a glossy black or silver Cerakote, including the bayonet and cleaning kit. I don’t want to bore everybody with all of the details, but I’ve done a ton of work making this rifle perfect to correct the mediocrity of my last one.
Thanks.
I sandblasted the wood to get all of the original stain out, sanded it smooth, and then dyed it. Took quite a while, since my clearcoat cures after a week.
In theory.
Good eye. I bought a complete gun built from an AK-63D parts kit, but I did put an AK-74 styled front sight and 24mm Bulgarian bird cage on.
Ah. That’s a lot of work.
So, are the tags correct? Was this built from a Hungarian parts kit? What receiver and barrel did you use?
Also, is that a Bulgarian AK74 type front sight base? I ask because that looks an awful lot like the Bulgarian long flash suppressor threaded onto it. 22mm or 24mm?
I made it from a Damascus steel blank and welded it to a Polish bayonet handle.

Thanks. The bayonet’s blade is entirely custom.
@GlitchyShadow
Thanks. It was a lot of fun to do.

AK’s are a lot harder to work with, but the end result is worth it.
Also, I am guessing that was previously an AKM type bayonet–common and not terribly expensive–that OP ground and milled into a slightly new shape.
