I don’t think she realized that from the start… or that she was particularly pragmatic from the start. 1000 years is a long time to learn some hard lessons.
@Blissey1
Except they worshipped her because of the sun, Luna was also a ruler but her night was ignored compared to the sun, she even says her plan is to bring eternal night yet there’s the sun for all to see and appreciate instead of the night, nothing has changed other than her sister is gone but Luna was already royalty like her sister the sun was the problem her sister was just an obstacle yet she lets the sun come up and push her night to the side.
I guess she just decided to make it law that no one can express appreciation for it, I guess that could work, over time her subjects would probably be brainwashed into believing the night was better since they aren’t allowed to like the sun, maybe that’s why she made them night adapted to make them like the night more since they can survive in it better compared to the day?
Does this mean NMM realized her plan would kill off everything and that her plan was doomed from the start?
Pragmatism? She was likely aware of the whole “eternal night would cause most plant and possibly animal life to die, thus eventually leading to ponies’ deaths as well” thing.
I’m more surprised that the sun was up, her whole plan was eternal night, not partial night, why are subjects even bat pones/night adapted if the sun is still allowed to shine? Kinda throws the entire point of taking over and sending her sister to the moon out the window since she didn’t really change anything.
