Yeah.  
The reason humans feel jealousy isn’t social programming, it’s genetic. Sharing, at least for males, hurts the likelihood of continuing your genetic chain. Generally, people without some amount of jealousy would get weeded out of the gene pool. Anything sexually reproductive social species without some form of superfetation would be the same.
 
While I’ve no doubt stallions would have stopped the whole “murdering foals that aren’t theirs” bit, they’d probably be harsher about the idea of sharing the mares in their herds than men sharing their partners, not more lenient.

I prefer the headcanon that Cadence was with Anon before she moved to Canterlot and met Shiny.  
I just don’t like the swinging or cuckolding HC. They sound so lazy and unoriginal. Not to mention that it would mean making Cadence and other ponies act really OOC.

From what I’ve read real world stallions’ way of dealing with someone else foals is often killing them and knocking up the mare themself, so yeah, they do seem to have a different way of dealing with that stuff. Same with lions by the way since we’re on the subject.

Well, whatever floats your boat. I disagree vehemently, however.

I HC the princess of love to not feel limited to one lover. Shining has Dagger, too, in my personal satyrverse. I don’t see horses as really have a sense of infidelity or cuckolding in the same way humans do.  
Not that i deny other headcanon, but in my pictures they’re communicative adults consenting in flings/relationships.
