My headcanon is a number of them live in Equestria, and while the general public might be unnerved by the thought of monsters living among them, Celestia’s official stance on it is anything is welcome to live in Equestria provided it co-exists with the ponies and follows their rules.

No. Yokai like akanames and rokurokubis don’t get cutie marks. They look very similar, to the point that they are practically indistinguishable, but are fundamentally different than actual ponies. I’m giving all of them muted color schemes and no cutie marks so they just look kind of “off” compared to regular ponies. It makes them look more monsterous :P
 
And oh yeah, totally. This one doesn’t like to hide what she is, and wants to get right in everyone’s face with it to find friends and companions who like and accept her for what she actually is, but tends to get pretty carried away sometimes :D
