oh no, discord’s trying to make up things for me to worry about. I’m sure he’s being totally sincere and not screwing with me. I better not talk to starlight, because what does she know about what to do with her own life? only princesses can decide that! also I’m also suddenly codependent and can’t bear starlight leaving the show I mean my house. I know, I’ll ask princess celestia, because everypony knows how helpful she is, never sitting back and letting others do it for her. wait, why’s she laughing at me? this is such a dramatic turn of events I’m sure the audience is on the edge of their seats!
You are aware that Celestial Advice was about Twi letting Star leave, and talking to Celestia about being a good teacher/mentor, right? That’s better than another two-parter about a danger of the month that’s beated by Ex Machina.
kill them? that’s the start of an adventure in another world! or something! they’d have to figure out wtf happened, and where they are, and escape tambelon and I don’t even know, but making it literally an illusion, and the actual season premiere conflict was nothing other than twilight being a moron and worrying about pretty princess political bullshit, that was just fucked up.
What, did you expect them to kill them or something? This is MLP, not Game of Thrones.
Hasbro cockteased DX
saw this just now, way after the episode, and I still raged.
not cool, hasbro.
She’s dead inside.
plays Muse’s Deae Inside
Some people hide their suffering behind dumb jokes. Hell, I used to. Downplaying something and hoping others play along may be someone’s way of coping. Starlight thinks that maybe if she can make everyone laugh, she’ll be forgiven, and can move on.

Edited because: grammar + shrunk image
I said this once in another image already and I’ll say it again.
Sunset most certainly did turn good with just the usual rainbow-to-the-face method, but she certainly did not become a perfect saint overnight for Rainbow Rocks or during Friendship Games, as she had anger issues plus other stuff (even if she did turn into a magical girl at the end of the latter movie). I can say Legend of Everfree Sunset actually did feel like they were trying really hard to make her saintly. After two movies worth of character development. That and the fourth movie was Human Twi’s story more than anything, Sunset was the deuteragonist at most. And I’m also pretty sure you’ll find much fewer people who actually believe that how Sunset’s 180-redemption came about was the absolute highlight of her arc and the main reason she even has a fanbase, and this goes for Starlight too.
I get we are exaggerating stuff a little to make a point how Starlight criticism feels unfair sometimes, but seriously people, don’t make that same mistake yourselves if you want to call some one else out on it. And I really wish people would move past this whole SSvSG mindset already, this pic had almost nothing to do with Sunset until she was suddenly brought up.
Assalamualaikum fellow muslim!
Mashallah! looks like I’m not the only muslim here, alhamdulillah!
Well, that’s an improvement at least. Maybe summoning the black hole makes sense in story context. Twilight and Celestia are there, or at least having a teleconfrence.
Nope, they’re at Sunburst’s place.
They’re praticing this random spell inside Twilight’s library, arent they?

I compltely agree with you two
Equestria as a whole has always placed a much greater emphasis on forgiveness than we do in the real world (and of course the moody teenagers in EQG), not to mention because of the time travel nature of Starlight’s last exploit, most ponies are probably unaware of what she did. It should come as no surprise, then, that the mane 7 and ponies of Equestria would accept Starlight with open arms once she expressed her genuine desire to become a better pony and move on from her past. This is Friendship is Magic we’re talking about here, after all; you have to be kidding yourself if you think Hasbro/DHX is going to end a season finale in a manner that isn’t a happy ending.
Despite what you might think, Starlight did receive punishment for misdeeds. Unlike Sunset, who faced external opposition via the other CHS students, Starlight battled with an internal conflict. She’s constantly trying avoid slipping or relapsing back into her old self and also struggles with crippling self-confidence issues, questioning herself on more than one occasion about whether or not she is even capable of becoming a better pony. In a sense, Starlight was punishing herself.
Trust me, that’s the last thing I would describe it as.
They’re not going to be out of high school ever because it’s a high school movie series. Like Bart Simpson never aging. The most you can expect is a movie set during summer break or something.
We know there was a gap of 6 months between the first and second. The post-credits for RR shows Sci!Twi studying the energy readings from the two events. Three likely takes places shortly thereafter. Four seems to be at least several months after three, given how the rest of the characters talk about stuff with Twilight we never saw.
Agree. Even though I’m not a Sunset fan, I see the appeal in her, and find the hypocrisy annoying. If you don’t like her, that’s fine, just please don’t bitch about it.
It’s comments like these that make me wish there was an upvote system; you’ve summed up my thoughts perfectly. As an individual who enjoys both characters, I’m always puzzled at how someone can so easily accept Sunset’s near instant reformation (her entire past behavior was practically wiped away by the time Rainbow Rocks came around) but vehemently despise the gradual climb that Starlight takes to earn a better life for herself. Perhaps it’s too realistic for them?
The timeloop was the final for season 5, which didn’t take any time, and since it likely was half a year between 3 and 5’s end, they should be out of High School by this point.
Again, limitations of format. They can’t dedicate the 65 minutes to going indepth on her.
Also, I edited in some additional detail regarding time in my previous reply.
