Princess Mimesis
This is Princess Mimesis, the daughter of Queen Chrysalis (and Shining Armour, but only Chrysalis knows)
She’s a safety nut, always worried about something being too dangerous, and wanting to make sure everything is safe. She cares for her mother and the hive deeply, and feels the need to protect them. But she also has a fascination with ponies, she feels a need to be among them and will constantly sneak out and watch ponies in their lives. She can’t get the hang of shapeshifting yet, but can’t wait to experience their lives when she does.
I’m not very happy with her design, I want to change it and make it more interesting, but for now this is it.
She and Zekiel are friends, and I wrote a little something of how they meet if you’re interested:Princess Mimesis often hid in the Everfree Forest watching Ponyville from afar, but was surprised when a Zebra found her one day. He tackled her and asked what she was doing. She was scared and tried to transform into him, but only wound up covering herself in stripes. He laughed at her and said that she’s the worst Changeling he’s ever met if that’s all she can do. This makes her curious, suddenly asking him “You’ve met other Changelings?”
“Well, yeah. We had them back at my old home in Zebrafrica.”
“What’s Zebrafrica?” Her eyes staring at him as she’s enraptured by what he says. He looks at her curiously and asks,
“Why do you want to know?”
“I’ve never heard of it before.”
“And why were you hiding up there?” She suddenly became very nervous, rubbing her hooves over the other as she replied;
“Oh.. I…. I like to watch the town…”
“Because.. you’re a scout?…”
“No, my mother doesn’t know I’m out here. I just like to watch them, imagine how it would be living with them.”
“You’re a Changeling, just turn into a pony and go out there.” The Zebra stated.
“You saw how well that turned out.” She said holding up her hole filled and stripey leg. Looking up at him, she realises that he’s still on top of her. Blushing, she asked, “Um, do you.. do you mind getting off me?” He blinks and looks down,
“Oh, um sure.” He steps back and holds out a hoof for her. Uncertainly she takes it, her blush getting brighter as he helps her up. “Sorry about that, it’s just I haven’t met many changelings that didn’t try to attack me, before.”
“No it’s alright. I’d better be going though.”
“Well… okay.” He turns and starts heading further into the forest. She’s confused, and a bit worried for him.
“Hey-HEY! Where’re you going? The town’s back that way.”
“Hm? I know, but my home’s this way.” Rushing up to walk next to him she asks,
“You live IN the Everfree Forest? But there’s monsters in here! Manticores, Dragons, Cockatrices! Aren’t you scared?”
“What’s there to be scared of? Sure Manticores can be grumpy if woken up, but show them some kindness and they’ll purr like a little house cat. Dragons are only a problem if you steal from them, otherwise they’ll leave you alone. And Cockatrices are noisy creatures, so you always know if one’s nearby. There’s a way around everything in the forest. The only time my mother’s ever had to leave was when the forest itself started attacking everything.”
“What do you mean? The forest attacking?”
“A long time ago, plants called Plunder Seeds started growing and stretched out over the land. It took over Ponyville and reached Canterlot before it was stopped. But during that time it wrapped it’s thorny vines over everything. It messed with magic and even the clouds were unmanageable.”
“Wow. I never knew a forest could do that.”
“You can learn a lot of new things in this forest. It isn’t controlled by pony magic like the rest of Equestria. It grows on no one’s command. Ponies think it’s haunted, they’re sort of right, I have seen ghosts here, but they’re not the reason the forest works like it does. Nopony knows why it’s like this.” They continue to walk through the trees silently, Mimesis staring all around her with her ears flicking, trying to figure out if a monster was nearby. Zekiel glances down as her, watching her child-like curiousity. Mimesis turns her head and notices Zekiel staring at her. He looks away and tries to focus on something else. Mimesis stares at him and asks,
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“No, what is it?”
“It’s just… You’re very weird.”
“Weird?!” Her face puffing up as her cheeks redden.
“Yeah. I mean, you’re just following me. You’re not attacking me, covering me in goop. You aren’t doing anything.” He turns to her and leans in close with a scrutinising eye, “Are you sure you’re a changeling.”
“Yes I’m sure! I’m not just any changeling, I am a Princess!”
“Ooo, isn’t someone fancy?” He chuckles.
“Hey! You can’t talk to me like that!”
“I’m sorry, it’s just, you’re not the first Princess I’ve met, I’m actually friends with some. And they tend to be all very lenient with how they’re addressed.”
“Well I’m not, you may address me as Princess Mimesis.”
“Well Princess Mimesis, you may address me, as Zekiel.”
“That’s a weird name.”
“Says the Princess called Mimesis.”
“Mimesis is a perfectly normal Changeling name.”
“And Zekiel is a normal Zebra name.”
“Still weird…” She mumbles. Zekiel rolls his eyes and starts to head off.
“Well bye, Princess. Perhaps we’ll meet again.”
“Bye…”
