These are old tweets from months ago when “Where the Apple Lies” aired. These tweets do not apply to the recently revealed information at all. OP has no clue what he’s talking about.

No way they’ve been gone all these freaking years when applejack was a child, they come back and say “Yeah, we were just on vacation” That’s AWFUL storytelling.

Well, if the show decides to retcon Applejack’s parents into being alive in the current day, they would likely only stick around for an episode before going on another grand adventure. Leaving AJ, Big Mac, Apple Bloom and Granny Smith to take care of the farm again.
 
After watching the previous season, I’m prepared for anything now.

If they wanted to have them be alive at this point they would have a heck of a time trying to justify them not showing up for two reunions and leaving their kids and an elderly relative to run a whole farm.
