Hmmm… I dunno man. Twi’s rage seemed more directed towards Spike, and he was the only scared enough to suit himself with pillow armor. The other ponies didn’t seem very worried about that :S
His point was that they would have taken just as much of that blast as Spike in that scene.
I haven’t seen Fluttershy, Rarity, RD nor AJ getting the slapstick here.

Besides that pillow armor adds +3 resistance to Sleep effects. Comes in handy.
