I’m getting unsure about her being a griffon, though….. Some say she’s a harpy. Do harpys walk bipedal?

If she’s indeed a griffon that would make her the first griffon in the show who’s name doesn’t start with a G.

Agreed the diamond dogs, dragons and even gryphons in the show are prime examples of anthropomorphic animals, if people want to complain that there are furries becoming canon they’re a few years too late.

It’s kind of ridiculous, really. How many seasons have people said they want to see the lands outside Equestria, or want the mane 6 to visit new places? And when they pull out all the stops and actually give us adventure outside Equestria and show off new species that live there… complaints.

The tags have nothing to do with how people act as if there is no antro aspect at all in MLP and when see somthing like this call it “antro hell”.  
It’s bull crap as they act like it is somehow completely different and wrong to have around the normal look of the ponies.

I still don’t have much hope for this movie other than Ingram’s writing. He can honestly make anyone sound good so singing talent isn’t even something the VAs need.

That’s if we’re being pendantic and ignore the context of the word as used here.  
For example we don’t label pony art as anthro or call it that. We don’t call humanized pony art anthro despite the fact that it’s the most anthropomorphic art style with heavily anthropomorphized pony characters.  
Anthro when used here refers to appearance. It usually refers to partially anthropomorphized characters but there’s cases where anthro isn’t always anthropomorphic. It’s usually based off appearance and that translates to a mix of human and pony traits.

Which honestly disappoints me if it’s true… Which I still don’t have a confirmed source on. People keep saying that the staff said the movie takes place before her reformation and that she’s not in the movie, but I’ve yet to see any actual sources on that.

Nope, when you apply any human aspects to an non-human thing it is antro.  
It’s why it’s bull crap that people have a problem with humanoid ones and thing non-humanoid ones are not antro.
