You assume I want to improve in a way YOU consider improving. I don't aim for a more anatomically correct style, far from it, I like the more cartoony or exaggerated works.
I wouldn't expect you to understand this, but most of the time, artists develop a style after working in a medium or theme for awhile. For Ponies, I've locked down a style that I'm known for. It's taken years to do it and it's been difficult to keep it consistent, which was one of my goals. I HAVE gotten considerably faster at drawing and these samey faces and poses you're pointing out, including the one we're currently on, are usually quick stupid posts made in an hour or two used as a reaction pic on tumblr. Not some magnum opus I spent months on.
My improvements are on a more subtle level. Not something I'd expect a non artist to see. Experiments with different shading techniques and colors resulting in deeper more vibrant shadows. I've been focusing on trying to improve my work with hair while also spending less time on it. Highlight and dynamic shading work to reinforce a more 3D feel. I've also focused less on ponies this year and more on human anatomy. That Dash you pointed out took me weeks when I drew it. Now it takes me a few hours.
That Luna pic that you complained about my anatomy work on? That was a thirty minute challenge.
You and your bud Coinpo assume much about me and they way I work. You use general sweeping statements like "imagine where you could be" as if you yourself have **any idea** of what that means.
I have improved in the last year. I just haven't done it in the way **you'd** understand or prefer. But at the end of all this. Why the fuck would I care what you want? This a silly hobby centered around cartoon horses I enjoy. I'm not going to change that because some randos on the internet get existential about horse[s||poiler]porn[/spoiler]||.
Perhaps you should concern yourselves less with me and focus on improving your own work.
EDIT: Also, "same faces and poses" lol. Have you actually gone through my work and looked? Apart from occasional pieces like this one, they're all over the place.
Touch me in places
