I guess there’s a more notable difference between luminescence magic and attack magic when it comes to Tirek and Jade Experience than we see with regular unicorns.

It’s just a light spell, not a death ray. It’s also mostly ceremonial, since it never actually gets full dark in Equestria anyway.
