No Vapor Trail? Anyway, I think I choose Ember, she is awesome and has an great design. And I like Dragons. I also like Gabby and Saffron. The rest are also ok, but not so much my favorites like the three others.

Gems in SU don’t have genders but every one of them addressed as ‘she’.  
Plus, we never saw changelings with eyelashes or something, which is a common rule in mlp.

Like in my language if gender is unknown then it’s male gender by default.

then what is up with males and the lack of screentime? is it wrong for a girls cartoon to have 50/50 of screentime between F and M?

The fandom is not at fault in the slightest. When the choices clearly favour one over the other, what we pick isn’t up to us anymore.
 
The male characters they’ve made are unexplored and usually rather plain and have gimmicks in place of personality. Quibble vs Gabby is a no brainer. Zephyr vs Saffron is unfair. Ember vs Sunburst doesn’t stand a chance. The women win every time, because they are much better characters.
 
This is a problem in the show, and shifting blame doesn’t help at all. However, it is kind of funny. I feel like I am quoting quite a lot of feminists here talking about another series. It’s rare for it to be this way around.
 
Thorax and Sunburst, two characters I really like, just aren’t getting enough screentime. No more than Flurry Heart, who I could do with seeing less of. The comics are usually a good place to go for this though. They did well with their stories on Big Mac, Shining Armour, and Sombra, so they should do these two well. Sad I can’t expect it from the show.
