I think you are also missing the fact that guns are a huge part of American culture and we Americans have a sentimental attatchment to our weapons that extends beyond the point of only owning them for protection.
 
That being said if someone were to break into my house, I wouldn’t be grabbing a baseball bat.

And if one of those people around you is bigger and stronger than you, and decides he wants to beat you and steal your belongings? What is your plan for stopping him? According to the FBI, guns in America are used more often to prevent crimes than they are used to commit crimes, and victims who use guns to defend themselves are much less likely to be killed or injured than those who do not.

Different history doesnt change that its working in germany. I feel damn safe better than knowing everyone around me is owning a gun. I would be seriously frightened even when i would own one myself

Sure, it’s called “I don’t like guns but recognize that every law abiding citizen has the right to own one”. Some people have a distressing tendency to confuse “I don’t like that” with “that is bad and should be illegal”, though, so here we are; at least guns aren’t the only thing that gets the treatment.

Germany and the United States are very different places; the USA, for example, has never lost a brutal war and had its entire population disarmed at bayonet-point after being occupied and dominated by foreign powers. The USA also has 7,458 miles of land borders (most of it undefended) and 88,633 miles of shoreline; those borders are crossed by over 500 million people, over 118 million vehicles, and 22.5 million cargo containers every year. Whether they get them here or import them, you cannot stop criminals from obtaining firearms in America, it simply is not possible.
 
And tell me about DC’s gun laws  
From 1977 until 2007, it was essentially illegal for anyone to own a handgun in Washington DC unless they were in the military, law enforcement, or armed security. Here’s a graph of homicide rates in DC from 1960-2012, alongside the overall rate for the USA. TL;DR: it didn’t help. Here’s an article that examines homicide rates in various places around the world before and after strict gun control laws were passed, and another article that points out the obvious reason for the results.

True regarding the truck. However the minimum age requirement for owning a gun is 18. There are some exceptions depending on what type of gun and in which state for example, in California you can purchase rifle or shotgun at 18 but must be 21 to purchase a handgun.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that high schooler could easily get a knife and stab that bully in the back sometime in a crowd or something. It’d be really easy. It’d be about as easy to run him over with a car sometime. Again, guns don’t kill people, people do.
 
And that’s neglecting the fact that you need to be - I think it’s 21 to own a gun in the U.S, anyways, so a high schooler wouldn’t be able to get one legally unless they’ve been held back a lot.
 
But hey, as we’ve established, criminals will still get guns even if they’re illegal. Meth and crack are illegal, but there’s still plenty of both.

Look at Nice France, 83 people died and over 430 were injured by one guy with a truck. No AR-15 involved. As an American I love that I have the right as a law abiding citizen to own as many assault rifles as I want, many people consider them legos for adults. But at the end of the day, it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. And sometimes, when seconds count, police are just minutes away.

Now i didn’t want to go this far but do look at germany where i live.  
Looking at the crime rate there are by FAR less actual kills and crimes of innocents. By what-guns.  
Think about this for a moment;  
For everyone who is having issues in school with deep depression and weakness who wants to kill everyone who is bullying him will he be able to just do that with a knife? No.  
But will he be able to do it with a gun? Yes oh yes!  
But here in germany will he be able to get one?  
For 90% oh hell no!  
Same goes for anyone else who is a potential for killing innocents.  
This is based on facts. It looks stupid to say its not obvious and clear

And fact is that no amount of gun laws will change that. And even if they could, then I’m stuck with a bloody knife fight which I’d probably lose since I’m pretty weak, and a hardened criminal is probably a lot stronger than me.
 
Look, guns don’t kill people. People kill people. Taking guns away won’t make them not kill.
 
And you can’t take guns away any more than you can stop cocaine or meth. Just look at how expensive and (relatively) fruitless the drug war has been.
 

 
Plus, we need guns so the government fears us. The second amendment was very much made to allow for armed rebellion. I’m not a fan of violence, but the government should fear its people. That fear keeps us free.
