I don’t know about the sim genre as a whole, but road trip games are weirdly relaxing. There’s one where the whole game is just driving a crappy Trabant from point to point across low-poly eastern Europe. Nothing really exciting happens. It should be incredibly boring, but for whatever reason, it works.
