I’m reminded of Gondo and the Bazooka troopers in Godzilla vs Biollante.
 
A team of bazooka troopers, carrying special bacteriological weapons to harm Godzilla, scaled several buildings. After Godzilla fought the Super X2 for the second time, the troopers opened fire on him, delivering the payload.
 
Gondo, the head of the team, was reloading his bazooka when he got a com information that Godzilla had turned and was approaching the building he was in.
 
Fast on his feet and a deadshot, he fired a perfect shot into Godzilla’s mouth as he was looking in on him, administering the bacteria directly into his system.
 
He proceeded to snark by saying “All this intravenous stuff is no good for you. Stick to smoking.”
 
Godzilla, in his ensuing rage, knocked out the floor under Gondo, prompting him to fall into the building, before completely demolishing the building at his hands. It wasn’t until much later that they found out that the bacteria works, but Godzilla’s standing temperature was below room temperature, resulting in him making more radiation than the bacteria was eating and thus, not even slow him down.
 
I foresee a similar situation here.
