But if you can create something to feel happiness about a certain action(s) than presumably you DO have control over happiness. And what about the morality of creating sapient beings for purely servile purposes? Does making it so they will serve their purpose by hardwiring them to enjoy it make it ok?  
My point is that these pictures tie into arguments over the nature of life sapience and experience plus the making/altering thereof that have been debated for a LONG time and will likely to remain without definitive answers for some time to come if ever.

All happiness is artificial if you look at it that way because no one has control over what they find happiness in. And if all of it is artificial, then all of it is real as the distinction falls apart.

Mostly seems an extension of the whole ethical debacle inherent of ‘object ponies’. I mean like any other object pony she’s been made for a purpose and presumably also been made to enjoy said purpose, but is such happiness real or artificial? All in all there’s surprisingly deep potential for philosophical debate in such concepts.
