The sheer depths to which Chrysalis mirrors Scar and Zira from the Lion King franchise got even bigger with this finale.
 
Conquest-hungry tyrant manipulates hoards of desperate outsiders through need for food and other basic needs, only to be betrayed by those same subjects in the end once they see thier true colors/find a better way through co-existing with the former opposition.
 
I’m very much a fan how the changeling complex was dealt with in the end. Even from thier premier, Chrysalis was the only changeling that seemed genuinely evil to me. Thorax, along with the rest of the changelings are adorable in thier own way and deserve a happy ending, while Queen Cheese Legs got exactly what she had coming to her.

Not to mention how Chrysalis had her throne as her safety net this time around, and had plenty of time to plan her revenge on the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony since the Royal Wedding.

I’m sorry but this bothers me too much: It took a good long while of planning and infertracetion to beat Celestia and take over Canterlot. Yet they took two kingdoms and a large town at far reaching locations, two with unprecedent powers, in a night or two. Just no.
