I think they meant to make it a reference to Andale but they got the names mixed up, it was definitely a reference to Andale what with the crazy old pony who tells Pip to escape and not trust the others as well sparing the children and letting the old pony look after them.

Still puzzles me if Arbu was an indirect reference to the Fo3 town of Arefu in just name and really meant another settlement as the inspiration. Andale
