I joined right before the Season 4 Finale, so I got to experience the hiatus in all it’s glory. Admittedly, that benefited me, because it gave me time to explore the fandom deeper and deeper. I’m so excited for what the future holds!

Mote refs than a “we didn’t start the fire” parody!

After browsing some space core related media after finishing portal 2 I happened to come across one with pinkie pie. Next thing you know you’re looking up gmod models and buying merchandise while hiding it from the family.
 
Admittedly, the season three finale was difficult and I only just recently watched the controversial eqg spin off (first was an abomination but the sequels made up for shortcomings) but it is still a fun cheery show.

Him being reformed was controversial as all hell at the time. Some people still don’t like it.

I started late in season 2. You guys were starting to create quite the ruckus, at the time. Invading the attention of various places on the web. So, after seeing the ‘Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000’ musical number in a review, I thought, “That’s actually good.”
 
I discovered the Hub shortly after that. Decided, “Eh. I’ll give it a shot. Humor this.”, and tuned in the next Saturday morning. ‘It’s About Time’ was the first episode I saw. And, I thought it was very surprisingly funny and clever. This was during a time when I was falling out of TV, in general. So, I got kinda enthusiastic to check out more. Started catching up from season 1 onward on YouTube. Got hooked by episode 7 or so. My little sister caught me watching, during a time when we didn’t do much together. I asked if she wanted to watch with me. Ever since then, we were fans together. It’s part of what makes this show very special to me.
 
I enjoy this multicolored, mixed bag of a show, and this crazy fandom. Even to this day. It all makes me feel good, and was the stepping stone to connecting more with my much younger sister. It helped me open my mind to different kinds of people, as well.

I started watching seriously at the start of season 4, until then I just had fanworks and fan canon to go off of. Also I knew going in that Twilight having wings is a big deal, apparently.
 
With the episodes I watched, going forwards and backwards I had very little spoilers, so it was like I was watching them for the very first time. Can you imagine seeing how intimidating Discord is as a villain for a first time, after already seeing those later episodes where he is that friend that absolutely nobody likes?* :D
 
Except Fluttershy I guess.

Season 1: Rainbow Dash is the face of the show, so to speak, “So Awesome” was pretty much what she was known for. It later spiraled into her just making more memetic faces.
 
Season 2: We’re starting to have fun, and content and fame probably hit its peak. Fallout Equestria, Past Sins, Milky Way, Gyrobowl, Discord (As made famous by TheLivingTombstone), MandoPony, MikeTheMicrophoneZero. Bronies themselves started to get news popularity. There was also the leak for one of the fan favorite songs, Smile, Smile, Smile.
 
Season 3: Fear. Twilight not only supposedly getting a pair of wings, but also a high school spinoff where she was a human. Both turned out to be true, and it was one of the first real times people started crying that the show was ruined forever and were getting off the ride.
 
Season 4: Buy our toys. This is where the show started to do a longer running arc instead of individual stories. Where each of the mane cast would find a key in relation to solving a problem related to their element. There was the birth of the Twilight Scepter meme, and Applejack’s disapproving eyebrow. Also buy our new Twilight Crystal Castle Set, only $39.99!
 
Season 5: It could happen, only on The Hub. The hubble finally disappeared late into season 5, and Discovery Family took its place. It’s just not the same. Oh yeah, and uh…the hiatus between May 10th, 2014 and April 4th, 2015 nearly killed us. We had Rainbow Rocks, but still, that’s a long ass wait. We continue with a continuing story season, where Rarity gets a whopping three episodes in a row starring her. It was about time to, we were worried she was going to get so worn out and useless, she would turn into Applejack.
 
Season 6: Still on the ride, and it seems like we picked up a new passenger: Starlight Glimmer. Fluttershy has seemingly stopped being a complete quivering pussy and is showing some spine and sass. Thank god. Six Season’s in and it’s already shit.
 
What wild shit is Season 7 going to give to us, and when do we get off this ride?

I really enjoy how this drawing also works as a summary of major events during each of the seasons. I’m guessing season 2 is when a lot of the fandom’s creative content was being made?
