@Xaxu-Slyph
I was editing a queen chrysalis pic (so she’s doing [killer queen’s] pose) and made me think: what if shining armor = shinobu, flurry heart = hayato, and chrysalis = kira/kosaku?
@OptimusPrimevil
Right. The one Erina floated in to safety and the one he was stored in for a long time. I have that happen to me as well. Go back and read something you wrote and be like… oh…
@OptimusPrimevil
I honestly feel like ‘Whatevers convenient’. I also feel that… Araki forgets certain details. Like the ‘Diver Down’ stand user was introduced as female, but was later shown to be male.
@jerfro23
Jotaro and Joseph became Stand Users after Dio got his Stand from an Arrow. At the same time, Holly and Josuke became ill until Dio died. Giorno was four at the time of his fingerquotes father’s death. Jolyne got hers after pricking her finger on a locket crafted from an Arrow. Polnareff, Avdol, Iggy, and Kakyoin were born Stand Users. How is not explained, but it’s Araki, lel. All other Stands in Part 4 and afterwards were apparently created by Arrows. Though, in Part 7 and afterwards, Stands were created by Jesus Christ’s corpse.
@OptimusPrimevil
The problem is it gets confusing since people like avdol,joesph and jotoro can be born with it but since dio using another body who also uses hammon gets weird and kira kinda backs ur statement up
@jerfro23
Well… the problem lies in the artist. He kept retconning things. Stands are SUPPOSE to be the end goal of Hammon training. THEN they aquire Stands due to Dio ‘Infecting’ the Joestar bloodline. THEN it was due to the ‘arrow’, but others can have stands ‘awakened’ within them due to the arrow. Abdul states that he has had his stand from a younger age. That and none of the Joestar family, leading up to Part 3, were touched by the arrow. Stands start appearing in the Joestar family after Dio emerges? It’s all kinda hazy at this point, BUT… we COULD say that it’s Dio’s because a stand is defined as: The physical manifistation of one’s psychic powers given form. Meaning that, since it resides in the mind. It must be Dio’s since he is the ‘brain’ of that body.
@Xaxu-Slyph
that’s what i did with this. unfortunately the perfectionist side makes me cringe at the uneven strokes X_X but at least it’s a step back to drawing again.
@Xaxu-Slyph
I know where the fixes are happening. I wish I’ve haven’t gotten used to the idea that I could always fix it on photoshop that’s all rather than enhance it with photoshop (two different things IMO).
@OptimusPrimevil
Oh! I see what you are getting at now! Mayhaps have an art friend look it over before posting and start focusing on finding those more frequently? I mean… You may wish to analyze WHERE your fixes occur most often.
@Xaxu-Slyph
more of i’ve lately found myself using it to fix errors that past me would’ve noticed immediately. like i said “fix it in post”.
think of it as video games, lately i’ve been doing a lot of “release now, patch later” in terms of drawing where release now = errors/incomplete drawing patch later= fix it in photoshop.
that kind of thinking would be a detriment if there’s an impromptu art contest at the events i go to.
@OptimusPrimevil
Hmm… I’m not terribly familiar with Photoshop myself, but if you use it to make what you want then it isn’t ‘lazy’. It’s how you do things. Here is the deal though… Are you looking to improve your hand skills or do you wish to use photoshop to fix stuff? It isn’t bad, either path. What you choose matters because it’s YOUR choice. Either way is fine and I don’t think you should feel lazy for that. There are PLENTY of artists and such that touch up their works after making a physical version of them. Films are touched up, manga, comics, you name it, it probably gets that. Remasters of Video Games? How about when Hasbro themselves fix animation errors for DVD releases and such?
@Xaxu-Slyph
Actually what I thought was an improvement was one of the critiques:lines are too straight, everything is too angled/sharp due to my current style (the ink-paper drawing is recreated on photoshop via layers with the stroke being the ‘ink’).
that’s why it felt weird going back to the old method (if you’ll notice on this pic there’s the differently colored parts on the forelegs that sticks out compared to the rest of the colors) which was using the ‘multiply’ function.
though lately i found myself being too dependent on photoshop (errors in the ink-paper stage, i just “eh, i’ll fix it in post-production”) that sometimes i think i’m getting lazy X_X
@OptimusPrimevil
Dude… chill. I know that feeling of ‘I can see the flaws’, but a LOT can’t see what you can. That’s something important to keep in mind. I get REALLY self-conscious about putting anything out that I do myself. Part of it is that I really don’t do much in the way of ‘Original Content’. I can’t physically draw anything well. At MOST my stuff is scratch art when done with my own hand. So I used Flash to fix that problem with ‘absolute angles and shapes’ as I would call it. The ability to form what I want from simple lines and shapes.
You are doing FINE, dude. If anything, You are improving as I look back through your submissions here. Others are going to like it or not, but it’s you that it matters most of all. You created something and that is something to be proud of. Your physical abilities are beyond anything I could ever hope to accomplish.(I did stuff for YEARS without much improvement in school.) Everything I make is already been made and I just vector and color it.
Let it be known that you have at least me out there that believes in ya and eagerly awaits to see what you will do next. If you can’t believe in yourself, the believe in me who believes in you! :) Yeah I know it’s cheesy, but it’s true. Making ‘something’ in this world IS contributing to it, no matter the opinion of others. And we, ourselves, are ALWAYS going to be our worst critics for the most part.
