not saying he’s right, but there is a difference between making friends and being great friends with someone, or making real friends. Making friends all the time is the same as being friendly, you get a few compliments and people like you well enough, making real friends is far more selective, those are your compadres and they know you almost too well, or at least they’ll get to know you very well.
 
I’m saying this because this experience is very real and out of all people I ever knew or even met for that matter, only 1-2 of them, both from my childhood, seem to be genuine and the kinds of friends I’d call my best friends. It’s not a contest you know, or who’s cares more, or who is a better friend, that’s not what being friends even means at all, it’s how well people connect to each other that’s the difference.
 
now I’m not saying ViperBits is right again, just so you don’t misinterpret my point at all, I am only guessing that everyone here tries hard, but yeah, thing is, this show I don’t think will make you any friends you’ll be in touch with forever, but that’s more of a general sort of thing. The only people who will find new best friends through the show, they’re going to be the rare exceptions to the rule, reason being that, for one, they know what they’re looking for I guess, as well as how to get there and don’t limit themselves within the restraints of the show, like, for instance, not talking about anything other than the show. Some of the more interesting talks in this place for instance, are about things other than the show, just as an example.
 
so in a way, he’s sort of right, but not exactly.. The problem isn’t the show itself, it’s this central focus on the show specifically that might prove to be a huge block in that regard, of course that being for anyone who cares about this sort of thing…

Very well. Though the notion that my questions about permabans rise from my drama-adverse Brony nature. No, it comes from hailing from a forum that is far more political, has loser rules (ie, there is no Rule 0, you’re free to call each other whatever colorful insult you like as long as you avoid racial slurs), and yet far more prone to permabaning repeat offenders. So that’s the style of moderation I “grew up with” for lack of a better term.
 
But then, that site was also far more drama-heavy, and our repeat offenders far worse than ours. Think people with Whatevs or Commune’s extreme political positions, give them Lucky Shot’s incendiary behavior, and then multiply. So yeah, probably makes sense that the mods at my old site had to strike harder than Derpibooru’s.

While I agree with your sentiment (permabans are pretty extreme and should be reserved for really serious trouble makers), I don’t know that this is a good analogy. Users can filter anthro if they dislike it, but people can’t easily filter eachother’s comments/forum posts/PMs/etc. Users can be much harder to avoid.

Honestly, you either don’t understand the rules, you don’t know how to follow them, or you just can’t help complaining. It gets old. Several cast and crew members have very strongly indicated at various cons that there is probably going to be a season 7. Just because it’s not officially confirmed yet doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen.

Last time I talked things out like this, I got banned for over a month. Heck, even a non-hostile world building discussion got me banned (for just a day or 3) once and the discussion with all the unique ideas and stuff was removed. This site is not the right place for any sort of meaningful discussion, at the very least not in the image comments.
