Celestia and Luna being born or not as alicorns is a moot topic; given Equestria founding banner already had the two in it, it’s perfectly viable to state that they were both born before Celestia’s statement applied.

Well, I appologize if I seemed aggressive. Still, I don’t think Nyx “worked for anything,” and had it “taken away.” (She’s a fictional character, and a non-canon one at that making her even more fictional. Hate to sound biased, but fan OCs aren’t as important as canon ones.) Plus, I doubt the show makers knew anything about Nyx, or did that intentionally. I personally didn’t know Nyx existed until 2 years ago. You’re kinda taking Flurry’s controversial existence too personally in regards to your love of a controversial fan-character.

I’m afraid to ask, but which comment exactly destroyed all fanon? I admit, I wasn’t too keen on the “nobody’s born an alicorn” idea, (as I assumed Celestia & Luna were unique in that way) but oh well. I’d say that fault is more on the episode writer, then on a fictional character.
 
Also, you can’t really tell Smiling where to go, considering he practically is the main manager/maker of the site. :P

If a single sentence in a single episode can “break” it, then you might not be using the words “established” or “lore” properly.
 
The show doesn’t have to validate your fantasies, and even if it does, that doesn’t make your own personal fantasies any less your own personal fantasies.
 
Go ahead and keep writing your fanfics separate from the show and have fun. Why do you care what the show does or doesn’t do, relative to your own personal fantasies?

All I’m saying is you’re putting a whole lot of negative emotion, and a lot of, well, nonsense, into this belief that a baby with zero words spoken and no character has supplanted an OC that only S1/2 “old fags” even remember.

I mean, you’re mad because a characterless baby exists and a character said she’s the first alicorn born in that country. Like, genuinely mad. Do you think you’re the first fan that’s had their fanon shot down by some silliness on the show? The first that’s had their favourite headcanon characterization of their favourite character, or their favourite OC, destroyed by the show?

Huh, Glimmer fans aren’t the ones starting s*it because of Shimmer’s EqG status or canon or whatever.  
It’s mostly because SOME Shimmerfans think that Sunset had her spot “wrongfully” taken by Glimmer. Which doesn’t make sense because Sunset isn’t even a FiM character.

Well, I’ve not been in a good mood the past few days, and it seems everytime I mention that fact someone tries to antagonise me, so I’ve been a bit more passive aggressive as of late.
 
But Nyx has existed since 2011, you really can’t understand what this feels like. To have tried as hard as me and others have to achieve what we did only for one day without warning. Someone will take that away from you. You’re completely powerless to stop it. I’m not defending my reactions but I will say that it’s hard to contain my emotions when that sort of stuff happens. So, yes. I do hate Flurry Heart, I’m not going to deny that. I still haven’t seen much reason to like her as of yet and that isn’t helping the situation.
 
And about her not damaging the show, her existance kinda made Celestia make that comment which nearly broke 5-6 years of established lore that was thought as being the norm for the fandom. Luckily other writers pointed out that Josh Haber is a nutjob and made a slip up. Good thing we had other writers that care about the show and that alicorn book made a while back or Flurry Heart could’ve really done it.

I don’t see any “damage” in the show from a character who has only appeared twice, and hasn’t had any major impact so far. Glimmer has had more impact.
 
Also, if what you say is true, then there wouldn’t be Flurry-haters like yourself around. It’s rather annoying to claim the entire fanbase feels one way about a character you dislike. (Which is odd after citing how divided fans are on Sunset & Glimmer.) Also, I don’t feel strongly about her either way. She’s not my fav’ character, nor do I hate her. True Flurry hasn’t done anything to garner praise from fans, but nor has she done anything to deserve ire either.
 
Also, honestly I don’t see how Nyx is any better, or worse then Flurry.

Plus, Flurry Heart will be accepted no matter what, people will eat her up. Flurry Heart took what made Nyx unique and no one will question it.
 
Think of it like Starlight Glimmer vs Sunset Shimmer argument.
 
Glimmer fans hate Shimmer fans because it’s EqG and they also deem it non-canon.
 
Shimmer fans hate Glimmer fans because of the fan elitism from them and because Starlight Glimmer never had to work to gain her acceptance. She never had a redemption arc that she should have had.
 
It’s a lazy character that gets praise for merely existing, where as Nyx had to work to gain the reputation she has now, and even then it’s mostly negative.
 
I wouldn’t expect you to understand.

I don’t disagree with you there. But it’s the Internet and people like drama. Doe anthro takes a different definition when people on those sites talk about it, same with here. Anthro usually refers to a human/animal hybrid style rather than “anthropomorphic”. I mean, it’s true you could say every single drawn art here is anthro but that’s not what people usually mean.

The internetz tend to look down on “furry fans” for the same reasons they do bronies. So it seems odd to me. Also, MLP characters are already a bit anthro’, sense they talk, do things humans do, and such. I guess anti-anthro’ fans can’t see that though.
 
As for the notion of G1 being “too girly,” isn’t that what people who never see G4 MLP:FiM say about FiM/G4?
