Well Tirek was going to destroy everything they didn’t have much of a choice with him also his backstory says ponies tried to accept him but he refused so he made his choice, his actions were also for himself and weren’t necessary where as Chrysalis says she wants to feed her changelings so there’s a good chance they need it to survive and she was just tired of hiding to get it, power also comes with taking over obviously but that seemed more like a secondary goal like a bonus. We’ve also never heard of the ponies making an attempt to accept her or her brood whereas tirek was given the option.

Might be my Asperger’s talking, but I can’t see how. I’m only stating a fact that our brains trick us all the time, meaning you can hear things differently depending on your current mindset, or how words blend. Language is very complex and how we process it can be subjective.

Might have just been that you wanted to hear she, as such you convinced yourself that you heard it. It happens all the time with music lyrics. Also, you could have just been in the mindset to hear she, not just that you wanted to hear it. Like, because someone else planted the idea that he said she. That also happens with song lyrics.

Well, my headcannon is that changelings are herms who pick what gender they want to be based on their personality or how they feel that certain day, so for me it could still be a straight ship even if the changeling uses male pronouns. Obviously not in the show, but at least fanfiction wise it could work considering Spike has been shown to be straight. And I’m pretty sure most straight people are worried about the physical sex of someone, not their gender identity. So herms are a win-win in my book.

Well, let’s just wait. You could hear Spike’s intense stressing of the H sound. I could be hearing the quick words colliding and it becoming slurred “s-he’s my friend”

I’ve listened to it around a dozen times myself and keep hearing “he’s” with my headset on.
