Nah, nah, see, there’s a difference with him. The spells influence wasn’t mind control until the end, where the Sirens had fed enough on negative emotion to a point where they could make everyone adore them. Until then, all they were doing was making anyone and everyone a little more aggressive in their behaviour. It’s pretty much a case of Flash was actually thinking everything he said, he was just holding it back, as was everyone else. It’s a competition, they want to win, so they’ll sabotage everyone else.
Sure, he likely wouldn’t have said it otherwise, but he does, he means it and eventually becomes aware of why he said it.
Why it’s important for him specifically to nut up and apologise is because, A) Trixie is generally a bitch anyway, so whatever, and B) He’s continuously being thrown into the mix as a prominent character in the EQG world. The main human character not from Equestria that you’d think of besides the mane 7. Whether he’s supposed to be the relationship interest or not is irrelevant, it’s a kids show, and he’s supposed to be the likable human boy character guy that they’ll see more than pretty much everyone else. It’s still a kids show, and while the lesson is weird when some kind of magical Tenacious D style rock off is happening, he’s the one person out of everyone else in that school that should’ve had two extra seconds in that hug scene to say say “Sorry for being a D-bag, I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
Of course mid-way through that movie, he practically becomes irrelevant in general, further adding to how uninteresting a character he is, and the writers and such seem to know it since they’d practically given up on him altogether. Yet they’re still just kinda forcing him in there somewhere to be useless. So it really just begs the question, if they’re not going to try and make him likable or interesting, then why bother with him at all?
And just to clarify, that’s not me hating on the character, I honestly do kinda like him to an extent. It’s just that he’s kinda… there… Doing nothing interesting, barely even being there as a moral support character… There’s other background humans outshining him at this point.
Then I guess Twilight shouldn’t forgive, Trixie, Snips n Snails and Trixie either since they were just as mean to her as Flash was under the spell (If not worse . Since Flash at least didn’t try to sabotage their performance or trap them under the stage.). Also The human 5 and Sunset could’ve just as easily told him what he did, But you know what? THEY DIDN’T! Just saying.
