Rarity and Pinkie Pie work well together because both are inspired, creative ponies. It’s just that Rarity’s creativity is meticulous and ruthlessly organized, while Pinkie Pie’s runs on pure spur-of-the-moment inspiration unfettered by any organization whatsoever.
By letting yourself go insane, becoming bored with it, then becoming very sane.

Rarity basically just reacts to Pinkie, essentially we get to see her confused, irritated, and exasperated a lot. So as a Rarity fan it’s kind of fun to see that part of her character more I think since it doesn’t come out as much otherwise
I don’t know if they really work well together, as in have realistically good chemistry (don’t think so, Rarity’s patience is tried way too much) but they bounce off each other in a unique way

the Rarity/Pinkie dynamic is really growing on me really fast now that it’s FINALLY being spotlighted in both the show and other things. Somehow they work great together and are their dynamic is just generally adorable.
