Dragonlord Ember, 850 years after the events of Gauntlet of Fire. The Mane 6 are long gone, and Spike, now a mighty warrior, now lives with her in the Dragon Lands. Pony technology entered the space age long ago, and there are colonies on the moon, some of which have been there so long entire generations of ponies have been born there. The Dragon-Equestria Concordat was signed more than 6 centuries ago, and yellowing copies of it hang prominently in both Canterlot Castle and Dragon Lord Lair. Princesses Celestia and Luna still regularly visit Ember for diplomatic meetings, and discuss days long past, when ponies and dragons used to be at war.

A time none of them can ever imagine happening again.
