I think most of them would only do so with their special somepony, if they have one. Love is one of the big themes of the series and the ponies really deeply value it and all.
 
Are you trying to suggest that you think they’d just have casual sex with each other, though? Because, while I obviously don’t think they’d be promiscuous elsewhere, the main origin of this whole argument has been about is that I don’t think they’d just have sex with each other, either. Unless it was someone they are in an actual relationship and genuinely loved the pony in question and want to be with them and so on. Could go on about that, but yeah, you get the idea I guess.
 
If they want to ‘blow off steam’, most of them will either do so with their special somepony, if they have one, or simply masturbate or something like that if not. A couple of them may be more the casual sex type, but not many/a majority.

I seriously doubt any of the Wonderbolts would be promiscuous either, if for no other reason than the fact that they’re more or less a public relations unit and any dalliances of that sort would cast aspersions on the Flight Corps. If they do want to blow off that kind of steam, I do think they’d be a lot more likely to do it with somepony on their own team who knows exactly the kinds of challenges they face, and who understands the importance of keeping private matters private and professional matters professional.
 
That said, Soarin at least has always seemed like a family man to me, like we just haven’t seen his wife and kid(s) yet because it hasn’t been relevant to the story.

An impression is generally of an individual or small group of individuals. Generalizations can form from that, sure, but it’s nothing more than a form of personal bias. Minorities often face such generalizations or stereotypes because of peoples biases that may have formed from their own experiences, for example, and it’s not fair or realistic here either.
 
But yeah, sounds like you’re just arguing that people have personal biases when they think of groups of people, which is true, but I don’t find those to be fair or realistic at all. And I don’t think the biases/generalizations/whatever you want to call them at all describe the Wonderbolts.

I don’t disagree– the military aviators and elite soldiers I’ve known certainly don’t fit that stereotype– but an impression can be realistic and reasonable and still be unfair; people draw conclusions and comparisons based on what they’ve observed in their own lives, and it takes more awareness than many people possess to understand that the lives of others may be radically different from their own.

Some do, I’m sure. Not anything approaching a majority though, so any sort of generalization or stereotype is not even remotely warranted. And the Wonderbolts is a professional organization and all, mind you.
 
Not about to accept the idea of the Wonderbolts being promiscuous though. It’s pure nonsense. Maybe there are a couple of members on the team who are are into the more casual sex thing, sure, that’s not unreasonable, but as an organization, no, I don’t think there are many like that at all.

Oh, it is completely unreasonable and unrealistic. There are obviously celebrities that are into casual sex and stuff like that, that’s obvious, but it’s nowhere even approaching a majority or anything like that, and I find generalizing them to be totally unfair.

Reputation, sure, they’re mostly removed from that image; in reality, though, fast-livin’ professional badasses tend to fit into certain types, and it’s not at all unreasonable or unrealistic to make assumptions based on that.
 
End of the day it’s still a show for eight year olds, so it’s all headcanon either way.

“Rockstar” in this context is metaphorical, not literally referring to a famous performer of Rock music, and there have been many times in the last six decades or so that Blue Angels, astronauts, and SEALs have been treated like rock stars.

Well, I’m obviously very strongly opposed to that sort of generalization.
 
That being said, I’ve already made my points (not really all of them, could go into it more, again, but it would be time consuming) and responded to the post in question. And as mentioned, I’m tired and feeling a bit under the weather, so as ridiculously nonsensical and unfair as I find that generalization to be, and all the bad things I’m sure I could continue to say about it, I’ll hold off on extending the arguing any further for now.

More like the offensive/hurtful/whatever stereotype of “athletic = promiscuous/casual sex practicer” or anything similar, which is clearly false.
 
And yeah, I’m sure there’s a fair chance of a couple of members on the team being into that sort of thing (casual sex, I guess), I just don’t think they’d be anything approaching a majority. I could go more into that, but I’m tired and doing so would just spark up more arguing, so I’ll pass.
