Sweet Celestia the season 6 debut was incredible. No, scratch that, it was nothing short of perfect! I could go on and on in regards to why this is the best season introduction thus far, but that would take way too long.
Let’s just say that this explosive double-episode is merely a hint of what’s to come, and no doubt it will be utterly grand.
I must say that the addition of Flurry Heart to the family will make for a super interesting dynamic. Never before have we had the opportunity to observe the growth of a foal firsthand, I mean hoof, let alone the world’s first natural-born alicorn.
I, for one, am so very pleased that Night Light and Twilight Velvet had their own lines to say, given that fact that they never spoke in the three appearances they made over the course of the entire series.
That being said, I’ve wanted to vector them for a long time and this scene gave me the chance to do just that.

Oddly, many “young characters” sound older then they are in the show, even the CMC recently. (Considering how old their VAs are getting. Though, Scoots sounds mostly the same.)
Heck, Tiara & Spoon are voiced by women in their twenties, but it’s not something unusual in animation as women are often cast for young characters. Some are quite good at it.
Pipsqueak was the only male colt with a genuine child voice actor, but sense he got older, and his voice changed, they had to recast him. One of the problems with casting male child voices in long running shows. (Though, still occasionally worked out with “Hey Arnold,” and Skippy Squirrel of Animaniacs. Oddly, they still sounded young.)

I didn’t mind Lyra and Bon Bon’s voices, though. Heck, Bon Bon had already had 5 completely different voices prior to that.
Yeah, Featherweight’s voice sounded… off. Maybe they were trying to go for intentional vocal dissonance (scrawny colt actually has a really deep, scratchy voice), but it ended up making him sounding far older than he probably is.
I agree, it’s nice to have at least one beloved silent character. But if she is eventually voiced, I’ll accept it. (Maybe for the series finale, kinda like the clown from “Howdy Doody.”)
Honestly, I didn’t care for Lyra, BonBon, and Featherweight’s official voices. Derpy was cute though.
That pretty much sums it up, my friend. The nuclear Sparkle Family, plus Cadance and Flurry Heart, are probably household names by now. Not only that, but they must come up in routine conversation too.
It’s a good thing the essence of solidarity and respect is quite potent in Equestria because not feeling jealous of them would be hard otherwise.
Son joins royal guard and becomes Captain of the guard; daughter becomes protege to sun goddess and savior of equestria on multiple occasions.
Son marries alicorn princess, becomes prince and rule an empire; daughter literally transformed into alicorn princess.
And now they’re grandparents to what maybe equestria’s first natural born alicorn.
Pretty sure nopony talks about their kids at social gatherings anymore cause there is literally no way to beat these two now.
