Isn’t that technically Spike’s poop that Rarity is holding in her magic?
Spike is so heroic and famous, that someone collecting and selling his poop

just think, with those spikes he probably had to have surgery to have the book removed without tearing his anus apart.

Maybe, but is funier to think that someone in Manehattan is trying to sell something that passed through Spike’s digestive system

Yup
Customer - Where did you got this stone book?
Seller - Oh, you WON’t actually know, what this book passed through…

Speculation. I’m not saying this is canon, just that it’s what seems most likely to me.
  1. She was looking at it for a minute or two before actually using it, and was herself for that part. Since Spike carried the book from the castle and nothing happened to his memory, I would say that in addition to her not remembering what she did under its influence, the book also caused her to forget or never put into memory the part where it was given to her.
2)It looks like it did when Spike found it, rather than how it did after Rarity changed it. I think it’s fair to call that “original state”.

Out-of-universe, my guess would be animators getting careless with what “prop” objects (or whatever the appropriate term is) they used.

It returned to its original state, good as new, after getting eaten by a dragon, and it wiped itself from the mind of its user so it wouldn’t be recognized.
Where you get that from?
  1. Rarity was “not quite herself” during it, so it wasn’t ‘wiped’, it just never got stored in her memory.
  2. Was it returned to ‘it’s original state’? It’s not quite Jumanji kind of deal.

Personally, I’m leaning towards ‘just a similar decorative book’ In-Universe (or Mane6 fan-club merch), and ‘Writer tried to do continuity nod but failed miserably due to not even watching what he was nodding at’ out-of-universe.

And if someone DID decide to mass-produce that thing, they’re either colossally stupid or outright malicious.

@Royal Brisk
I was about to say she should at least remember it, but that’s not true. Once the spell was broken, she didn’t remember what she’d done, so there’s no reason to think she remembered the book itself.

Maybe its like other evil books and if you destroy it it just ends up reforming from magical ether somewhere else in the world to cause trouble.

Its why they sealed it away instead of destroying it, like why imprisoning the avatar is a better option than killing him.
Background Pony #BFE2
Mabye there was more then one copy of the book.
Did any of you think of that?
Royal Brisk

I like how everyone seems to be putting the blame on Rarity for the book. Isn’t she just pulling random stuff from the stalls at the little market/swap meet/whatever they are standing in?
Background Pony #3E69
Okay, that’s ridiculous. Completely destroying canon for one second gag?.. There is such thing as “limit”. Don’t go along with spongebob’s steps, FiM, just don’t.

Twilight: Rarity…why did you steal my childhood doll?

Big Mac: Your doll? You didn’t want it, so it’s MINE now!

Twilight: I’ve been looking for it and assumed Tirek destroyed it with the library! Now that I know you have it, I’m taking Smarty Pants back ang giving her to my niece!

Big Mac: Bring it on Princess Biatch!!!

Yeah its obviously just reused assets/a joke of course. There is the fact that spike eats Gems on a regular basis so I’m sure a stone book would be more destroyed then that. Of course though that is just over thinking a visual gag anyway.
