Some people think that everyone hates Spike. Other people keep trying to find ponies to ship Spike with.
Since Spike was raised by and lives among ponies, it only feels fair that he should be able to go out on dates with them too. Knowing how stupidly long dragon lifespans are (I have no clue), hopefully he will be physically and mentally mature enough for romance before his best friends turn to dust.

Unless the show has some real surprises in store for us, it’ll be a while before we can see Spike settle down and have kids. There is always room for friendship though.

It’s hard to justify this image as an example of romantic shipping though. All they are doing is conversing.

Some people think that everyone hates Spike. Other people keep trying to find ponies to ship Spike with.
 
Since Spike was raised by and lives among ponies, it only feels fair that he should be able to go out on dates with them too. Knowing how stupidly long dragon lifespans are (I have no clue), hopefully he will be physically and mentally mature enough for romance before his best friends turn to dust.

That’s a very poor reason for saying 2 characters should or should not be together just because of how their shipping name sounds. It’s like “Flashlight” yeah the shipping name sounds good, but nobody gives a shit about Flash Sentry, so it doesn’t mean anything.

Well, I watched a youtube compilation of season 1s funniest moments just to see what the fuss was about back in 2011. As soon as that yellow horse started talking with a voice like barry white I knew I would get hooked if I watched any more so I avoided it for 2 years for the reasons I just described.
 
Then one day, the show i was currently into, transformers prime, ended and I had nothing to watch.  
Desperate to find something new to watch I decided to try just one episode of mlp to see how I liked it.
 
That episode was magical mystery cure and when it was over I immediately binge watched every other episode. I was hooked, there was no escape and I no longer cared.

I really want to bitch about how two terribly written characters being in a episode together is a bad idea.
 
Screw that though. Starlight and Spike would make great friends. They’re both terribly written characters whose writers didn’t look like they put enough thought into how their characters could develop that even contradict previous established appearances.
 
Screw Sparity the Spilight or whatever you call it ship needs to sail.

Thats okay. Just In case I overdid it on the sarcasm I didn’t mean any of what I said in my last comment.  
Magical mystery cure was actually the first episode I ever watched and the one that got me into the fandom in the first place. I had been avoiding the show like a plaugue before that because I had this mental image of it’s fans all being a bunch fursuit wearing weirdos and I didn’t want anyone thinking I was like that.
 
Now I dont care. I enjoy this show and no one can tell me i’m wrong for doing so and most of the people in this fandom are great down to earth guy’s and gals.
