@ArrJaySketch
I think a 7th season is totally in the range of possibilities.They make one season by year and i think a season to tie-in with the movie is a logical thing to do
…Seriously though, does anyone remembering him making similar statements about Season 4? If he really meant “last” as “SEE YOU IN HELL, JABRONIES ” as opposed to “yeah that’s the last one I worked on in S5 and won’t have any in S6”, I think he probably would have worded it differently. If Season 7 actually happens (instead of G5 Season 1), there’s still a high likelihood he’ll be back.
@Joshua
They said there’s going to be nine seasons of MLP
No, they didn’t; Hasbro execs said at an investor meeting during S4 that the company was going to support the FIM brand for at least five more years, and wishful-thinking fans interpreted that as meaning “five more seasons of the show” because they weren’t around during G1 when there was a ten year gap between cartoons where Hasbro was still cranking out toys and other merchandise that had no animated support.
@Ihhh
didn’t he write the story for Rarity Investigates?
When there’s a “Story by:” credit, it usually means that one of the writers wrote the basic outline of an episode during the “writers’ summit” brainstorming session they have before production begins on a season, but it later got handed off to another writer to turn into an actual script.
Lightning is somewhat famous for refusing to be bottled the same way twice; given the, uh, problematic history of demographic-switch rebranding, there is a statistically miniscule chance that rebranding the franchise with the deliberate aim of chasing cross-demographic success would result in anything other than a metaphorical dumpster fire.
I am genuinely saddened by this news. So genuinely I feel like I should just walk away and not look back. I know that won’t actually happen, but it feels like it should.
@Background Pony #6FC1
I remember watching Doctor Who for a brief time in my life and I agree that it was pretty good.
@royalbardofequestria93
While I can understand that the Simpsons’ ratio of putting out good episodes is much harder nowadays, I still think they can put out something decent every now and then. (That is if people weren’t so cynical about their usage of guest stars.)
@rdibp
Same here. But I also want to see cute horses doing kick-ass things as well.
I’d say give them some time after G4 ends before they think of doing G5. They got a lot of experimentation accomplished in G4 and it would be very interesting to see what they come up with next after looking everything over.
@Ihhh @Sff @SuppliedRelic
Sorta figured this would happen. I was being sarcastic with that comment; very drily and bitterly sarcastic, admittedly, but sarcastic all the same. “Winter Wrap Up” and “Hurricane Fluttershy”, by themselves, would justify her writing for the show, even if nothing else she wrote was better than “Owl’s Well That Ends Well”.
@ArrJaySketch
I’m perfectly fine with some duds, as long as we get Primes and Animateds down the lines. If we stay with G4, it will get worse. If they go the Transformers route, we will have series that are better than FIM.
Princess Flurry Heart truly was the harbinger of doom for this series. If only I had listened sooner.
While I’ll probably watch Friendship is Magic for as long as they make new episodes, it would be nice to see what they can do with a new series and see if lightning strikes twice. With the hundreds if not thousands of artists and writers I’ve seen on the internet, I’d like to see what some really motivated people can come up with.
Seeing a generation 5 come out while I still live might be nice :3
