I was considering it since it was pretty much the consensus anyways, but I’m definitely not going to say no to Blissey who wants it that much. Besides, she’s not exactly that bright so it’s totally in character for her to use such an on-the-nose name:
 
“Hi I’m Milky the milk– I mean coral snake!”  
“…You want ponies to think you’re a coral snake instead of a milk snake, and you named yourself “Milky?”  
“Coraly is too hard to say.”  
“Not like it makes any difference I guess. We can tell you’re a milk snake you know.”  
“No you can’t cuz I’m red and black and red– I mean yellow!”  
“Yeah, but red on black; friend of Jack.”  
“Tell Jack he’s not my friend anymore if he’s telling everypony I’m harmless! …I don’t have a friend named Jack.”

Personally, I’d be fine with just “Milky”. Besides, there aren’t any OCs with that specific name in the first place, only ones with combinations of other words like Milky Way.

I dunno, ‘Milky’ as an OC name is kind of already effectively taken, and a little on-the-nose. ‘Scarlet’ (identically patterned, similarly harmless and related snake. Maybe she has a sister?) might work but is already semi-taken, in that there are five different OCs with one or two pictures each. Maybe go with the species surname and call her Elapse.
