After Spike realizes that Sludge has come to rebel against Lavan’s tyranny,
he helps achieve a diplomatic moment with the G’nash the ice orc (who’s already on Spike’s side).
@Seiya-Meteorite
That was one episode, like the Mane 6 vs. the changelings, Twilight’s battle with Starlight and both Daring Do episodes, not every episode has action in it, if it was an action oriented show, then there’d be fighting in almost every episode. It wouldn’t be called ‘Friendship is Magic’ if they fought with everyone. Also, if it had fighting most of the time, then parents would get angry and try to have it canned so their kids wont be exposed to it.
@Cirrus Light
Even without growing, he’s definetly stronger than he looks. When the Diamond Dogs first appeared, he actually held out against them pretty good by himself (despite being smaller than the 3 of them) even if for a short time.
Which makes sense since he’s, you know, a dragon.
Also, the show’s rating is the only thing stopping him from using that big blast from Equestria Games to completely finish off 99% of the threats they face singlehandedly.

When operating in
A) An anarchy environment, including international politics, or
B) With the authority of an absolute dictator, ie, pony princesses,
It can be surprisingly often :p
