Considering the original creators of Godzilla oversaw his change over the Showa and Heisei series, and all the spectrum that covered, really isn’t anything he’s ‘supposed’ to be other than what the plot dictates. They’re basically the same. Well C’thulu has the psychic dreams of madness and vast intellect and Godzilla has the will always fight trait. But for the most part they are the same.
