I actually really appreciate when they take the time to add that type of detail, even if it only adds to the inconsistency since they rarely think about it. But I guess if there was one pony that would be aware of the incongruity of grabbing things with hooves, it would be Pinkie.
@armadiloeater
What’s funny about that is that Pinkie, arguably the most cartoony out of them, often has the thing she’s grabbing taped to her hoof in more recent episodes.

I wouldn’t say ponies going bipedal is such a rare occasion in the show, but it’s also not something that bothers me so much. But I can see where you are coming from, since I remember being bothered by ponies grabbing something with their hooves, back in season 1. It happened rarely, didn’t make sense, so it felt lazy. But now they do it all the time, so I gave up that particular pet peeve. Isn’t this kinda the same thing?
@orbsah
Isn’t it obvious? Gilda learned about the power of friendship, taught it the other griffons, and they all decided to work together to make Griffonstone a better place, which of course involved fixing up or rebuilding the rundown old buildings.
@armadiloeater
Those are used very sparingly and mainly for quick little gags if you bothered to watch.
Fosgitt however has the ponies go bipedal very regularly. Hell Celestia in the preview of the Pinkie FF was sitting on the throne with human motions and poses over and over. It’s a mite distracting when they’re walking on two legs with human poses over half the time.
Well, you have to admit, there’s a certain attention to detail in these. Unlike in the show, Rarity doesn’t manage to squeeze her horn into whatever hat she’s wearing.
And while I would be one to defend Jay Fosgitt’s style for being cute and toon-y, having the two BG ponies carrying bags in a bipedal fashion is really “lazy”; they easily could be carrying the pile of luggage on their backs.
