I don’t care as long EQG stuff never appears on the pony show, they were designed in a way that fans can ignore one if they want because they don’t affect each other.

That just goes to show how popular Sunset is that they had to make an Expy of her, since they can’t pull her out of the EQG universe since she’s the mane character of Equestria girls and the lynchpin of the entire series.
 
 
They know fans love sunset shimmer, but paradoxically can’t use her in FIM because of her importance. So they had to devote an entire season (And possibly 2 seasons with six coming up) to making a Sunset shimmer clone to try and give fans what they want.  
S6 should hopefully have starlight go alicorn in its finale just like sunset.

Sunset shimmer is absurdly beloved by the entire equestria girls fanbase currently; Going super saiyan and being a messiah angel alicorn human really upped her ranking exponentially.
 
So you’re in the minority pal; she’s the mane character and she’s not going away as we all love her (the majority that is). I hope she keeps her super form for the next movie as a special ability for her.

I prefer her this way. Lusting for greatness, power, and everything. Sort of like a pony Emperor Palpatine. I just wish she turned into the real monster she was supposed to be, instead of getting watered down in that horrible Equestria Girls movie.
