It’s a cartoon. I can drop an anvil on Twilight’s head, alongside other items, and she’ll be fine in other frames, not to mention these are ponies.
Don’t you know that no one can have fun when it comes to ponies?
If it’s “uber serious” enough to prompt people to rationalize mob murder, then it’s serious enough to warrant two or three sentences pointing out the obvious flaws in those rationalizations. Which have been used to justify real life cruelty.
*People, and done for the night, 2am and busy tommorrow.
Not particularly, but it irrtates me when assume it’s a justafiable excuse, because people have been beaten to death in mobs like this, and the person who starts it often stands by and laughs.
‘They earned it’ is a sign of cruelty, not justice.
And in general hypocrisy just makes me want to strangle people, joke or otherwise.
And then, all of the sudden, THAT tag comes in out of nowhere.
Life isn’t fair because it’s a mindless natural force which lacks any sort of overall consciousness and therefore cannot make ethical choices. This isn’t a valid argument against moral behavior, because people are rational actors capable of being ethical, even if they choose not to be.
My point still stands, as ‘godly’ so far only refers to the hero worship that Luna and Celestia get, but mostely because precedent doesn’t change the act itself, nor does intent.
Well, godly beings witholding the existence of unparalleled threats of a cosmic nature from their subjects and students have fared far worse before. So there is a precedent.
By that logic the Princess’s should be dead, because they’ve omitted(Also known as lying by omission) Discords existence, the Changelings, Sombra and the Crystal Empire, and many others.
So a simple lie every Tabloid would do suddenly equates physical trauma and injury, when the above doesn’t?
