Why does Applebloom look like she what she has on isn’t actually a costume…?

Although it’s not silly for you to not celebrate Hallowe’en if you think it’s satanic. If you feel like you’re doing something wrong, even if it isn’t objectively wrong, it’s still wrong because you’re violating your conscience. I just try to raise awareness of things like this, because the prudishness of my fellow Christians can be infuriating sometimes. Take tarot. Tarot is often branded as satanic because of its association with Pagan and Occult divination (for those unaware, the reason Christians brand those religions, and in fact all false religions as demonically influenced can be found in the Bible, and isn’t just another weird tradition.) However, Tarot cards, by themselves, have no power, or association, materially or spiritually, with Satan. There’s actually a passage dealing with this sort of thing (something about it being ok to eat meat that’s been offered to false Gods, don’t remember the actual passage) So I believe that Tarot Cards, for actual gameplay, rather than divination, are A-ok. I’d actually love to see a quality Tarot with major and minor arcana based around the characters from MLP. That’d be really cool.

Oh, ok. I think it’s really rather silly to think of Hallowe’en as a satanic holiday, especially as it originated as All Hallows Eve (All Saints Day being the following day.) It’s just a weird sort of thing that’s developed from a number of different concepts. For example, the masks were supposed to scare away, or hide you from demons, or some such nonsense.

I live in Puerto Rico where Halloween is seen (mostly by old people) as a satanic holiday so I haven’t had a good Halloween since I moved here.

Ditto. Any costume parties planned? I’ve got one in my BSA troop. Hallowe’en night I’ll be staying home to hand out candy as Freaky Fred or an IG Commissar. Hallowe’en is one of my favorite holidays, simply by merit of the fact that I can be somebody other than myself for a night, really get into character, and nobody will raise an eyebrow.

I hope it’s not freezing this year.
