I know they’re not major villains, but where are Flim and Flam?

The writers REALLY want to show us that Celestia (and in some cases Luna) is useless…
 
Also, headcanon confirmed, Twilight and her friends are ESSENTIAL to Equestria.  
That means that there can be NO replacement Mane 6.

The Tirek timeline confuses me the most out of any of these, how in the world did it even get that far exactly?

I’d be okay with the NMM one. Yes she is a little screwy but there doesn’t appear to be any major conflict under her rule. Not with individuals (Tirek/Discord) or nations (changelings/crystal empire).
 
Hell, she even got tourists visiting her castle.
