I’m truly glad that the writers never fail at the continuity for Rarijack, it’s probably the only consistent pair left within mane 6.

Well Rainbow’s jerky level has unfortunately always been inconsistent, like I thought in S2 she turned into far more of a jerk than she ever was in S1, but yeah it had been better in S3 and S4 and there was a real forward development with her chilling out and generally getting nicer, so it was strange to see her in Scare-Master basically acting meaner to Fluttershy than she has in any episode since freaking Dragonshy early in S1.
 
Still FlutterDash does have a lot going for it regardless., iv always been surprised that the most popular Dash ship is freaking TwiDash, I can barely recall ANY significant interaction between them until like season 4 or so, And AppleDash is still really big and it’s basically just been coasting off Fall Weather Friends for 5 years.

Sorry for the late comment, but before Rarijack I would say the most developed one was FlutterDash, before season 5 you can clearly tell how Rainbow acts differently around Fluttershy, until writers ruined it with their discontinuity which turned Rainbow into a total a** at Scare Master.

Actually, thinking on it, it is really unfair to Spike if he ends up with Rarity. It is no secret that Spike’s romantic inclination towards Rarity is 100 percent physical based. He also cares for deeply as a friend, like any of the Mane 6. Spike deserves a partner that not only likes him back (Rarity doesn’t reciprocate his crush), but one he cares about on a personal level in a romantic way.  
Not to mention, he is a baby/toddler/young child and she is a grown-up.

Most interaction has been Spike showing affection to Rarity, not the other way around, and she mostly treats him like more of a close friend than a love interest.  
Basically it seems like he’s friendzoned.

I disagree, Twilight’s instability has been greatly deminshed in recent years. The only times iv really found her truly interesting since MMC are Twilights Kingdom (though I still have plenty of problems with that episoed) Testing Testing 1.2.3 and Amending Fences. Asides from that she does have her moments but she’s faded kind of into the background and doesn’t get to show her quirks much. Granted she’s still far more interesting than the one noteness that is Fluttershy.
 
Not to mention that with that many stories, pretty much everything possible regarding all those things has been done, so it’s just boring now, there’s still a lot more the fans can do with the rest of the Mane 6. I have almost no interest in Adventure stories staring Twilight anymore especially, I think her magical ability makes those too easy. IT’s far interesting to set up an a big heroic adventure against a character you wouldn’t think of as being so suited for it, I think Rarity and actually Fluttershy have the most potential there because they force the writer to be creative.

Twilight is just such an interesting character to write about.
 
She is, quite possibly, the most mentally-unstable pony in the cast, which is fun enough, but add in her vaguely-defined but extremely powerful magical ability, her almost-“Notice me, senpai!” level of devotion to Celestia, and the fact that she is both a Princess herself AND the all-around protagonist of the show…yeah, people have an absolute field day writing about the myriad ways Twilight Sparkle Totally Loses Her Shit _{(and I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if that isn’t already a title of a fic somewhere)}. Heck, her insanity is even canon !
