No, the moon was literally blue. Everyone blamed Discord of course, who just thought it was funny, but it ultimately turned out that Luna got really drunk the day before and figured at the time that signing her work was a good idea. The ponies confronted Discord and asked why he took the blame, and he remarked that he thought it was what a good friend would do: since ponies expected that of him and his reputation was crap anyways he’d get a disaproving glare at best, while if Luna was blamed it could hurt the reputation she was working so hard to restore. Luna admitted it was wrong to let someone else take the blame, thanked Discord for being a good friend (finally), and promised never to hit the Moonshine before work again. Also Discord got a kiss on the cheek for it from Celly for protecting her sister.

It’s impossible to have a blue moon on Friday the 13th!
