well after i read the comments i can simply conclude that people here are hostile to whites, and the idea of white ponies is absolutely intolerable to everyone here
so i give up,
zecora is now the only white character in mlp, and everyone else is black
@stimpyyy
The version where everyone’s from Doug? I don’t see how those relate; besides, human interpretations like these are based on the show’s characters, not EG’s.
@Background Pony #FDF0
I was meaning you in the general sense of those people that were being referenced, though I could have phrased it better. I find it all pretty ridiculous that it even needs to be a thing of contention and that someone’s interpretations can’t just be as hunky-dory as they are when they’re just all white.
@Background Pony #FDF0
The thing is, the ponies aren’t white. They aren’t even human. By thinking of it as a cheap way to inject multiculturalism, you’re insinuating that they need to be a certain way, which they don’t.
@Mildgyth
And i did for awhile, but as i told a few other i might come back in a few months since I’d still be working on my cosplays, and here I am, thanks!
@Background Pony #413E
Because it’s generally seen by a lot of people as a cheap way to inject multiculturalism or “be open-minded” or “representation” without any real thought as to the implications.
Because there are way too many artists out there who have completely shameless double standards about racial equality.
Because a japanese artist who turned Garnet (who is not black, just dark-skinned) into That Funny Whiteish Color Japan Makes Everyone By Default in his fanart without considering the implications got enormous butthurt going on from tumblr complaining about that sort of thing, and yet turning white characters black is perfectly okay cough cough Blake Belladonna cough. So apparently just being a little inconsiderate is evil, but deliberately race-swapping someone is totally okay. As long as you don’t make them white.
