I always wondered if that was how the MCU version of Thanos came into being. He used to be the Red Skull, but after getting powered up/transformed by the Cosmic Cube he becomes the Mad Titan we all know and loathe.

I remember that story, but not the title. I think it was Russian and the dwarf was called Thumb-High-Man or something like that.
And the dwarf has all his magic & strenght in his beard, so the guy either saves him and gets a wish, or ruins it and turns out the dwarf was an evil villain anyway so he can later defeat it because of this?
I don’t remember the title, nor where I first read it.
It’s definitely a theory I like.
