Ex-Democratic Senators Manchin and Sinema have cast the decisive votes against reconfirming the Democratic NLRB member up for renewal, which would have given Democrats control of the body through 2026. This effectively hands control of all labor disputes to the Trump Administration.

Hopefully the unions have been preparing for this given that SCOTUS is poised to rule the NLRB and potentially most of the National Labor Relations Act unconstitutional, in which case employers will be free to fire you upfront for even saying the word “union.”

Granted, they already did that, but they’d at least need to fabricate a pretense to pretend that isn’t the reason.

Today, the annual iteration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed the House. This year it was allowed to pass with a provision to eliminate health insurance coverage of gender-affirming care for children of service members.

80 Democrats including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries voted Yea on the bill. The Democratic abandonment of trans people in the name of “bipartisanship” has begun.

What’s that mean?

Basically they’ve ruled that Homeland Security can kick out any immigrant, any time, pretty much on a whim.

While this logically shouldn’t affect people who’ve gained citizenship, the incoming administration really DGAF about logic.

Trump and his immigration handler Stephen Miller have already indicated that revoking people’s citizenship is on the table.

I think a better possibility could be China. Their team has almost never made it to the World Cup at all, and as long as their economy has not completely collapsed by then, I’m sure they would not be afraid to throw all the money at it as they possibly can.

Since Trump was probably getting tired of Kari Lake making his movement look bad, he’s appointed her as director of Voice of America.

How fitting for her to work in a straight up propaganda outlet. One that should’ve been abolished years ago.

The constitution is just words on paper without people in power who believe in the things it says and represents. And with the House and Senate both controlled by Trump’s eager sycophants, unqualified incompetent partisan hacks taking positions in his cabinet, and the highest court in the land happily twisting the law to accommodate him, I doubt there is anything too repugnant or unconstitutional for him to get away with anymore.

I’m not sure why you think that would help. Something like this is about more than just knowing what it says. Much like many religious texts, there’s a substantial difference between the people who think the words represent something important and bigger than any one individual, and the people who just want a convenient sentence or two to justify acting on what they already believe.
