Yeah, doubting code requires storm bunkers. X3
remembers the lack of ancient structures on coastlines Oh right.
I like to imagine that most pony constructs suffer from Attack on Titan syndrome; they’re so used to weather control that they forget how to construct weatherproof buildings. XD
Right, but you don’t see many ancient ruins in tornado alley. I’m betting the EF4 that hit my town would probably significantly damage a building like the Colosseum, nevermind everything around it. I’ve noticed that, even in recent historic times, many large, heavy brick buildings can have large sections that were replaced after a major tornadic outbreak. The Dr. Pepper Museum is probably a decent example.
Granted, Tornadoes aren’t exactly common in Europe, at least, not as much as they are here in the midwest, and when they are seen, they don’t tend to be massive, multi-vortex wedges that we get here.
Also, ponies control the weather, so most structures would be safe…unless someone’s incompetent (nee Wonderbolts Academy) or in times of war…which is where you’d see the big ones. I mean…how many pegasi would it take to build a 2.5mi, EF5 wedge?
I say large structures because obviously small stone huts and stuff have been flattened already. XD
See, that’s the weird thing! Our large structures today seem a bit more susceptible to such damage than ancient architecture. Look at the ruins of Rome or the old castles of Europe; it took hundreds of years to do have the damage that one hurricane can do to one modern building.
Structures on the mountain, however…
Yeah, let’s just say I’ve seen firsthand what 195 mi/h winds can do to sturdily built structures.
